What are All on Four Implants?
Dental restorations or endosseous implants are titanium metal posts or screws surgically inserted into the jawbone under the gums. When they are healed and secured, it allows your dentist to mount new teeth onto them. All-on-four fixed prosthesis is the best solution for permanently replacing the missing teeth and using up to eight in each jaw. The best thing about these is that you don’t have a new root for each missing tooth. You may not need a full teeth replacement. All it takes is four implants to support a complete set of dentures. However, it can also be possible to get permanent implants on four to eight new roots in the jaw – but this depends on the patient’s case. The full mouth bridges and dentures will look and feel similarly to your natural teeth and you’ll be able to eat and speak without limitations.
How does it work to get me a new Smile?
With the new permanent dental prosthesis, there can be all-on-four, all-on-five, all-on-six or all-on-eight artificial roots placed in each jaw. It will be able to support removable or fixed sets of dentures. All-on-four prosthesis is the most common treatment. This is the kind wherein two new roots are placed in the front of jaw, then the remaining two are placed at the back at a 45 degree angle. In cases where increased support or retention is needed, six, seven, or eight can be placed in the jaw. However, it is not a common practice and the patient should have thick jawbones.
What are the benefits to full arch denture implants?
Using the standardized Hybridge system not only provides the most consistent, safe, highly esthetic results, but has proven to speed up the total treatment process for patients as compared to conventional techniques. In addition to the system of clinical protocols and high quality implants and restorations you can expect, here are a few more advantages fixed prostheses over conventional prostheses, such as dentures and bridges:
Convenience
You’ll have the strength, durability, and comfort of permanent replacements combined with Aesthetics of fixed or removable partial dentures. You can eat and speak naturally and feel just like you are used to. Thanks to the artificial roots, your new teeth will have a foundation to support it so you can chew and speak without difficulties.
Quick Esthetic Results
Compared to conventional treatments that require a few months before a prosthesis can be placed over it, all on 4,5,6 or 8 fixed prosthesis can be immediately loaded with your new teeth. You don’t have to wait for several months to get the smile you deserve and enjoy having a perfect smile in just a day.
Durability
Compared to conventional dentures that need to be repaired or replaced frequently, fixed prosthesis are incredibly durable. If you take care of your teeth, you can expect these to last for a lifetime.
Quicker Recovery
We’ll ensure to perform minimal surgery for the placement as possible. Since permanent restorations will need only four artificial roots, the procedure and recovery will be easier for the patient. This is to make sure the process is quick, and pain-free followed by a speedy recovery.
Less Need for Bone Grafting
Bone grafting is not needed for fixed prosthesis as they can be placed where the quality of the bone is less pronounced. Normally, the effects of bone resorption can be mild in the front of the jaw bone. Therefore, two new roots in the front may be enough and it can be effective at retaining the prosthesis. These can be placed even where there is less space between the upper and lower jawbone. We can even use mini dental implants to achieve the same purpose for this situation.
Step by Step Procedure
The fabrication of all on 4,5,6, or 8 can be carried out in two phases. The first phase of the
Tooth Implant involves placing the procedure, while the second phase consists of loading it into the jaw with a suitable prosthesis. Visit Oral Health Center dental clinic for more information.
1. Treatment Plan
During your initial consultation, we will come up with a plan that can be catered to your situation. We will take into account the following factors such as how many teeth are remaining and the condition of the jawbone.
2. Tooth Extraction
Any teeth that will need to be removed have to be extracted. The extraction site will be allowed for several weeks to heal.
3. Placement
Our dentists will ensure that your treatment is painless and comfortable by administering a local anesthesia. If you are extremely anxious or worried, conscious sedation may be considered. In a surgical procedure, the dentist will make an incision over the soft tissue of the overlying jaw bone where the new roots are to be inserted. A surgical flap is raised and a small hole drilled in the jaw to prepare for the placement of the implants. The titanium roots are then screwed into position while applying controlled forces.
4. Implant Loading and Crowns/Fixed dentures
For the next three months, the implants and the bone will get bonded together. This will form anchors for your artificial teeth. A temporary teeth replacement will be worn over the implant.
Immediate dental loading: Modern dental techniques allow experts to immediately load the fixtures in the jaw with a suitable prosthesis. The denture and their abutments are prepared before they are immediately inserted when the initial surgery is done.
